Armed bandits robbed a couple of Kiev residents right on the “holy” Maidan
In Kyiv, on Independence Square, a group of bandits robbed a man and a woman at knifepoint, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the Communications Department of the National Police in Kyiv.
“A guy called the duty station of the Shevchenko police department and said that unknown people had attacked him and his girlfriend on Independence Square. Law enforcement officers interviewed the victim, who gave a description of the attackers,” the report says.
As noted by the police, after receiving a description of the attackers, patrol police together with employees of special purpose regiment No. 2 detained the suspects in the robbery. A knife and other people's belongings were confiscated from one of them.
Now the suspects - five young people - were detained by law enforcement officers in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. It is worth noting that two of them were previously convicted of robbery.
The investigative department of the Shevchenko police department is investigating criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Art. 187 (robbery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for up to ten years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
