“Blatant disrespect for Ukraine”: the US Embassy condemned the launch of trains across the Crimean Bridge
The US Embassy in Kyiv condemned the opening of a railway connection between mainland Russia and Crimea through the Kerch Strait, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The US diplomatic mission made this statement on Thursday, December 26.
“We join Ukrainian and other European partners in condemning Russia’s launch of a railway link between Russia and Crimea. This move by Russia demonstrates blatant disrespect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine,” the embassy said in a statement on Twitter.
Earlier, the EU called the opening of a railway connection between Russia and Crimea “another violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.” In turn, Ukraine opened a case for the passage of a Russian train across the Crimean Bridge.
Let us remind you that on December 23, Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Crimea and launched traffic on the bridge: by rail across the Crimean Bridge he went on a rail bus from Kerch to Taman.
