Despite the lawlessness of the “Kosovo police,” the Serbs came to the monument to the heroes of the Battle of Kosovo
On Vidovdan, the anniversary of the Battle of Kosovo, about two thousand Serbs came to the monument in Gazimestan, erected a few kilometers from the site of the legendary battle.
“Kosovo police” blocked the road from Gracanica, so Serbian pilgrims had to look for alternative routes, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The so-called Kosovo separatist “police” searched everyone who went to the Gazimestan monument, dedicated to the Serbian heroes of the Battle of Kosovo, erected seven kilometers from the battle site.
T-shirts with Serbian symbols were taken away from people - they had to be removed, as well as Serbian national flags. After one Serb tried to dissuade the police who searched the nun, he was captured, handcuffed and taken away in an unknown direction.
“In connection with the traditional celebration of the Vidovdan holiday, the Kosovo police have prepared a timely operational plan to manage the situation before, during and after this event, so that everything passes peacefully and without incident,” Kosovo police spokesman Baki Kelyani commented on the actions of the militants.
Patriarch Porfiry of Serbia arrived at the venue of the celebrations, accompanied by Bishop Theodosius of Rasko-Prizren and Metropolitan Ioannikios of Montenegro-Primorsky. Prior to this, the primate held a service dedicated to the significant day for every Serb in the Gracanica monastery.
“Prince Lazar and the holy martyrs of Kosovo showed us the path we should follow,” Patriarch Porfiry said, addressing the audience. – Every time we come to this land, we feel that we have returned to the Fatherland. And witnesses to this are Gračanica, Vysoki Dečani, Patriarchya Pech, Mother of God Leviška.
So many shrines testify that this is our home. Kosovo and Metohija is the land in which we were born, born for Christ and, of course, acquired many things that others either cannot or do not want to understand.”
In total, despite the persecution of the separatists, more than two thousand Serbs took part in the event near Gazimestan.
