Despite Western pressure, Greece does not intend to recognize Kosovo
During a meeting with Serbian Interior Minister Alexander Vulin, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said that Athens will not change its position on Kosovo.
This was reported by RTS, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Greece does not recognize Kosovo, Greece will remain in the position of international law and will firmly support the Republic of Serbia,” Vulin commented on the meeting with Mitsotakis. “I am grateful to Prime Minister Mitsotakis for this attitude and grateful that Greece’s policy will continue towards the best possible relationship with Serbia.”
Vulin, who in 2017 was the head of the Serbian part of the Mixed Committee with the Greek Republic, noted that the assistance in extinguishing fires in the form of helicopters of the Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs, which the President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic sent on behalf of the Serbian people to the fraternal Greek people, caused enormous and sincere thanks to Athens.
“Serbia's help is appreciated here and Prime Minister Mitsotakis once again expressed his great gratitude on behalf of the Greek people and the Greek government, but he also said that they always expect help from the Serbs because they always expect it from those who are closest to them , with whom they share not only religion and geographical space, but also the same values,” noted the head of the Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Mitsotakis also expressed his desire to make an official visit to Serbia this coming winter.
