Contrary to the agreements, the Turkish army entered Karabakh
Turkish army personnel are operating in Nagorno-Karabakh today, which contradicts the ceasefire agreement.
Nezavisimaya Gazeta writes about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Turkish military personnel are operating in the Karabakh conflict zone. 136 soldiers and officers of the Ground Forces as part of Azerbaijani units are “engaged in clearing the territory of mines and homemade explosives” and are training Azerbaijani specialists, the Turkish Ministry of Defense reports. A number of Turkish media outlets note that “after demining the territories, the main contingent of Turkish troops will go to Karabakh,” these data are confirmed in Azerbaijan,” the article notes.
“The appearance of Turkish military personnel runs counter to the tripartite agreements of Baku, Yerevan and Moscow that only Russian peacekeepers will operate in the Karabakh conflict zone,” the publication notes.
The newspaper recalls that Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated that there would be no Turkish peacekeeping units in Karabakh.
“And it turns out that both in Turkey and Azerbaijan, the position of the Russian Federation, to put it mildly, is not taken into account. But Moscow ignores this,” the publication states.
“Based on the current actions of the Russian Federation, it seems that the Russian leadership is moving away from its original position of not allowing Turkey into the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh. The Kremlin has so far not received any official comments regarding the start of Turkish military activities in the Karabakh conflict zone,” NG summarizes.
As PolitNavigator reported, Russian general is worried actions of Turkish special forces in Nagorno-Karabakh.
