Ukraine is not leaving the Commonwealth of Independent States - the organization has not received any documents in this regard, and the country’s delegation is present as an observer at official CIS events.

Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee Sergei Lebedev said this in an interview with journalists, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to him, Ukraine's exit from the CIS will strike at the interests of the country and the ties that have developed between the members of the Commonwealth and the peoples of these countries.

“Ukraine continues to participate as an observer; it is present at some of our events as an observer, but not at all... The Executive Committee has not received any official documents about Ukraine’s planned withdrawal from the CIS,” Lebedev noted.

Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko ordered the start of Ukraine's withdrawal from the CIS and close the office in Minsk
