“That’s not the question” - Lukashenko promised to do whatever Zelensky wants
Belarus will provide Ukraine, as well as Russia, with any assistance in establishing peace in Donbass.
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko stated this today during a visit to the Osipovichsky training ground, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We will provide Russia with any support: military and, if necessary, economic. We'll share the last piece of bread. It’s exactly the same with the sufferers in Donbass. This is our firm position. But that’s not the question.
Ukraine always says: there must be peace in Donbass. Okay, let's establish this peace. Let's take the first steps. Let’s not dance to the tune of commanders who sit overseas, but let’s look at Ukrainian land,” Lukashenko reasoned.
According to him, he told the presidents of Ukraine “especially Poroshenko” and Zelensky about this, but “it’s probably better for them to have someone scare each other, or even better, to fight.”
“We could have forgotten about the conflict in Donbass a long time ago if the Ukrainian government wanted it. I speak about this responsibly, not just as a witness, but as an involved person. What we can do? There is President Putin, there is President Zelensky. Whatever they want, we will do. There is only one goal - peace in Donbass, so that people no longer die and are not afraid to look at the sky. We are ready to do everything,” Lukashenko said.
