The issue of canceling total Ukrainization is no longer relevant - Razumkov
Since the Verkhovna Rada “didn’t have time” to consider the law on canceling the total Ukrainization of schools, this year it will not have time to come into force, which means that its further consideration has lost its relevance.
Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament Dmitry Razumkov stated this during a press conference, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If we are talking about the law that you remembered (“Buzhansky’s bill” – approx. ed.), then last plenary week we passed a lot of bills. And since this was the last plenary week, we moved according to the schedule, which was first on Tuesday, then on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, in fact simply adding bills to the previous day.
Regarding extraordinary sessions, I cannot comment 100% on what will go there and what will not. Because an extraordinary meeting is convened according to the Constitution in two ways - at the request of the president or 150 deputies of Ukraine. But this issue was not brought up for the extraordinary session that will be held in this hall tomorrow, like many other issues that remained last week,” he said, after which he launched into a five-minute speech about the duty of each deputy.
Dmitry Razumkov also added that in any case, this bill will not have time to come into force before the start of the school year, and therefore its consideration is impossible.
“If you remember this particular bill, then you can look at the reaction of the Venice Commission, the OSCE, and the UN. Many here engage in manipulation, talking about oppression. The only official language in Ukraine is Ukrainian. I think that this issue has not been raised and will not be raised,” he concluded.
