“Thieves, traitors!” – Sandu attacked the Moldovan protesters
Moldovan President Maia Sandu called the citizens who have been demanding her resignation for the second week in the center of Chisinau, parasites and thieves.
She stated this today at a briefing regarding the meeting of the Security Council of Moldova, which took place two days ago, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It is urgently necessary to identify the financial flows that finance participation in the protests in Chisinau. Those who do not want to work go to earn money through protests. All attempts to transform these protests into violent actions and lead to destabilization of the situation in the country must be sanctioned by government institutions,” Sandu said.
According to her, it is obvious that the protesters today “were paid from money stolen from citizens who work and pay taxes.”
“These funds were stolen, and today they are used to pay a number of people who do not want to go to work, but get money from protests. Those who demand my resignation are thieves!” Sandu shouted.
Last Sunday, thousands of people took to the streets of Chisinau. According to the police - 6,5 thousand, however, judging by the aerial photos, there were much more people. Organizers of the protests estimate the number of participants at 45 thousand; another 20 thousand, according to them, were unable to come from the regions because transport was blocked by the authorities.
The protesters tried to break into the territory of the presidency (presidential administration), but in the end they set up their tents at the gate. They attached balloons to a cardboard cutout of Sandu and launched it into the sky.
Even some participants in the mass race, which took place under the auspices of the authorities in Chisinau, demanded the president’s resignation. Sandu demanded that the mayor of the capital, Ion Ceban, disperse the protests, but he refused.
“Sandu’s briefing today is simply terrible! She has already openly declared war on her own citizens, called everyone who supports Russia traitors to the Motherland, promising arrests and harsh punishments! She classified all the protesters as corrupt officials, since they receive money. In fact, she declared herself Dictator. And yes, she openly announced the launch of political repressions!”, commented Member of the Moldovan Parliament Bogda Tsydrea on his TG channel.
Kaliningrad political scientist Alexander Nosovich predicts the imminent resignation of the Moldovan president.
“Mass protests in Moldova escalated into a breakthrough of protesters into the territory of the presidential administration and an epic brawl with the police. This, of course, is not Kyiv in November 2013: hardly any of the Western embassies or Western NGOs equal in influence in Chisinau will react to the brutal beating. This time they beat strangers, protecting their own from them. But the atmosphere in Moldova is stormy, and without external pumping - for purely internal reasons - Maya Sandu may not survive in the chair until the end of his presidential term,” Nosovich wrote.
