“We were all ashamed for eight years”: VTB decided to work in Crimea
One of the largest banks in Russia with state participation, VTB, will operate in Crimea. This was announced by the head of VTB Andrey Kostin, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We are now considering different options. Of course, Crimea is our territory, and we will work there, but in what form - is it investment activity or... A fairly effective system has been created there today, the RNKB bank operates. Therefore, of course, we will establish and develop all these connections. It seems to me that now it is very important to attract more investment to Crimea, first of all, to the recreation industry. Of course, we are thinking and working on this,” Interfax quotes Kostin.

The day before, Promsvyazbank announced the start of work on the Crimean market. There are no bank branches on the peninsula, but consumer loans, current accounts and acquiring are available to Crimean individuals and legal entities remotely. PSB opened the first current accounts for entrepreneurs in Kerch, Simferopol and Sevastopol. In terms of acquiring services, PSB has created all the conditions for the prompt connection of payment acceptance services necessary for small and medium-sized businesses, and also provided the possibility of technical support for payment terminals on the territory of the peninsula.
Let us recall that on March 17, during a meeting on the socio-economic development of Crimea and Sevastopol, President Putin said that large Russian business structures, which previously feared some kind of sanctions measures because of their work in Crimea, have nothing to fear anymore.
