“What a fool.” Poroshenko's wife led the party campaign to the Kiev City Council
The wife of the fifth president of Ukraine, Marina Poroshenko, headed the list of the European Solidarity party in the upcoming elections to the Kyiv City Council in October.
This decision was made by the Conference of the Kyiv city party organization, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I know that the first question I will hear will be: why am I going into politics? First of all, I am a citizen of my country, which I love very much. And I am not indifferent to how Ukraine will develop further, and what will happen in its capital, Kiev,” the official website of the EU party quotes Marina Poroshenko.
According to her, politics is not about beautiful slogans, but about concrete actions, on which people’s destinies often depend.
In addition to the first issue, “European Solidarity” represented the entire team in the elections to the Kyiv City Council. The list included secretary Vladimir Prokopiv, lawyer Leonid Yemets, who defected from Tymoshenko to the Popular Front in 2014, leader of the EU youth wing Dinara Gabibullaeva, as well as ex-ATO militant, scandalous nationalist Alexander Pogrebisky.

“The EU was unable to find a mayoral candidate capable of reaching the second round. We measured the chances of different people - nothing. So we decided to join the bandwagon. Petro Poroshenko remains the only top-rated person in the party, but it’s somehow out of place for him to run for mayor. Moreover, there is no guarantee of winning.
It’s also strange for the current people’s deputy to be at the top of the list. But they decided that Poroshenko’s name should be present, so they nominated Marina. The idea, frankly, is controversial due to its obvious manufacturability, but it won’t make it any worse,” Shrike explained in his Telegram channel.
“A much stranger idea is to nominate Health Minister Stepanov as the first number on the Servant of the People list to the Odessa Regional Council. Is he going to combine things?” – the blogger added.
