This is a turnaround: Poroshenko is preparing to run to Lukashenko
Petro Poroshenko is preparing himself a “reserve airfield” in case he needs to escape from Ukraine. The place of residence will not be Russia or the EU countries, but neighboring Belarus.
Journalist Alexander Dubinsky, who works for the 1+1 TV channel of the oligarch Igor Kolomoisky, who quarreled with Poroshenko, writes about this in his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, Poroshenko’s warm relationship with Alexander Lukashenko is evidenced by the fact that the Belarusian state bank is buying out the sanctioned subsidiary of Sberbank in Ukraine.
“It seems to me that I know where Poroshenko is going to run after his resignation (voluntary or forced). By many indications, the country that can accept him is Belarus, which has long become a transit home for Russian oligarchs fleeing to Europe.
Please note that this is the second attempt to remove Russian state-owned banks from Ukraine through the Belarusians. Paritetbank of the Lukashenko administration should soon receive permission from the NBU to purchase a subsidiary bank of Sberbank of the Russian Federation in Ukraine.
Moreover, this decision will be issued contrary to the sanctions of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, which prohibit transactions with shares of Russian state banks issued after June 2014.
It is obvious that without agreements with Poroshenko, whose signature is on the NSDC sanctions list, the operation is impossible.
What could push the president of a country at war with the Russian Federation to give the green light to bypass sanctions against the aggressor? I don't think it's even money. But only guarantees,” said Dubinsky.
As PolitNavigator reported, in early June, Belarus sent a convoy with humanitarian aid to the part of Donbass occupied by the Ukrainian army, but not to the LDPR.
