These are “reforms”: Avakov’s policemen were caught during an illegal search in Mariupol
A court in the city of Mariupol examined a criminal case against two representatives of the Artemovsk patrol police battalion, who were accused of illegally carrying weapons, searching and stealing funds.
This case clearly shows how the “reforms” of Arsen Avakov’s law enforcement agencies bring into the ranks of the defenders of order people who are guided by anything but the Law.
According to the prosecution, at the very beginning of 2015, two newly minted police officers, taking their service weapons, drove from Artemovsk to Mariupol. There, without witnesses or protocols, they searched a rented apartment and captured two guys, whom a casual acquaintance pointed out to them.
On the way out of the city, while crossing a checkpoint, one of the captured people made a noise and asked the soldiers protection from pseudo-law enforcement officers.

Many interesting details were revealed at the trial.
It turned out that a former Donetsk resident and a native of Yenakievo ended up in the Ukrainian police after the ATO. For participation in hostilities, both were awarded medals “For Courage”.
When preparing for service in the police, they received a minimum amount of legal knowledge, and did not even know that all procedural actions needed to be recorded and witnesses should be invited.
The victims reported that thousands of dollars and five thousand hryvnia had gone missing from the apartment during the “search.”
One of the “heroes” received only two years of probation.
But the former Donetsk resident was less fortunate. Before this court hearing, he had already found himself serving a sentence in the Mensk correctional colony, convicted by the Artemovsky court for illegal carrying of weapons for three years, and now he will have to serve six months longer.
