Here are the consequences of Zelensky’s meeting with the US ambassador
Yesterday’s statements by Vladimir Zelensky about the need to Ukrainize the younger generation of Russian residents of Ukraine, as well as about conducting propaganda against the LDPR and negotiations on Donbass only with the participation of the United States and Great Britain are a consequence of the communication of the highest-rated presidential candidate with Western politicians.
Ruslan Bortnik, director of the Ukrainian Institute of Policy Analysis and Management, stated this in a comment to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Zelensky says, first of all, that the topic of language and humanitarian policy is secondary for him; his position on Donbass has changed. Initially, he said in an interview with Gordon that he was ready to negotiate with anyone and in any way, today he says that only through mediation, in agreement with Western partners.
Gradually, the pro-Western part of his team and the politicians he meets are putting pressure on him, and his position is changing.
I think that Zelensky, of course, will not continue the current political course, but in a slower, softer format, a less sharp and pro-Western foreign policy course, both the course regarding Donbass, and the course regarding domestic humanitarian policy. His agenda is rather a moderately pro-Western policy,” predicts Bortnik.
