“When everything is destroyed, then we will evacuate” - Podolyak
While there is something to restore in Ukraine, the population needs to work on it and not once again raise a panic about the evacuation of blackout cities.
Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, said this on Channel 24, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I am a very pragmatic person, I’m not talking about emotions, but about mathematics. Where should part of Kyiv be resettled? Where do we have territory that is not attacked by cruise missiles? Where is there a territory that has not lost power, that does not have emergency shutdowns? Where? Just to be clear. Where can we move a million people? Especially those who today, for example, have already been able to adapt in terms of the severity of this winter, who understand and help each other. Why is an “alarm” needed? Why do this?
We need to look for a solution here and now. This is war. It's not a matter of forecasting four months in advance. Because there is war again. In normal life, of course, you need to predict what will happen in four months, invest in development during these four months, in order to then get two years of properly built infrastructure. But during a war, the issue must be resolved here and now,” Podolyak said.
He noted that only when everything in Ukraine is destroyed will any decisions be made at the presidential level.
“Of course, when everything is destroyed, let’s have this apocalyptic scenario. Of course, at the level of the president, at the level of Headquarters, at the level of the energy headquarters, certain logistics decisions will be made.
However, they will be accepted when everything is destroyed, when we can no longer repair anything. And today you just need to take it and work. Gradually restoring energy capacity on the left and right banks of Kyiv.
People don’t shout: “That’s it, everything is lost” and so on. I just remember this legendary phrase. We don't talk like that today. How do people talk here? There is no need to treat them like children,” added the Ze-office adviser.
