That’s why the Ukrainians surrendered Crimea – Parubiy was afraid of Zhirinovsky

Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Andrei Parubiy today at the trial in the case of “treason against Viktor Yanukovych” shared his memories of a telephone conversation with Vladimir Zhirinovsky in March 2014, when the Russian politician threatened to send troops to Ukraine.

The Ukrainian nationalist complained that he had received serious threats, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“I had a conversation with Vladimir Zhirinovsky, who called me in my office by direct telephone. During this conversation, threats were made from him. There were threats, including the introduction of troops to the mainland of Ukraine, if Ukraine pursues an active policy to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

A set of threats that is even difficult to convey to the court, because they were very emotional and chaotic. There was a personal accusation that if Ukraine organized the defense of its state, that actions would be taken against me personally that would threaten my life,” Parubiy said.
