So much for “independence”: Kosovo asks to send judges and prosecutors from the United States to the region
While in the United States as part of the Kosovo delegation for negotiations with Serbia, which will take place on September 4, “Minister of Justice” Selim Selimi asked his American colleague to strengthen his sphere with overseas specialists.
Selimi wrote about this on his Facebook page, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The support of our American friends remains essential to strengthening the justice system. In Washington, with Minister (Foreign Affairs - ed.) Haradinaj-Stublla, we had a fruitful conversation with Bruce Schwartz from the US Department of Justice, whom I thanked for American goodwill and investment in strengthening justice in Kosovo, which turned out to be a successful and successful step,” – Selimi wrote.
According to the separatist “minister”, during the meeting (see main photo) he informed Schwartz (it should be noted that he is not even the head of the American department, and came to the meeting in an informal manner, from which one can draw a conclusion about Washington’s attitude towards its satellites ) on the progress of reform of the justice system in Kosovo. The parties also discussed the possibility of expanding cooperation, especially “in building the capacity of the judicial system and the prosecutor’s office in Kosovo.”
“This can be achieved by transferring the direct experience of American judges and prosecutors to the Kosovars. Kosovo is blessed to have the support of the United States and will develop friendship with them as its most valuable asset,” Selimi concluded.
