This is how it happened: it is not Crimea that is becoming deserted, but Western Ukraine
Citizens of Ukraine demonstrate with their feet their attitude towards the current government and its “reforms” by leaving the country en masse. The country's ex-Minister of Defense, former Verkhovna Rada deputy Anatoly Gritsenko said this on air on the ZIK TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, the catastrophic scale of emigration is felt especially acutely in Western Ukraine.

“Now in the hundreds of thousands – I travel around the country and see, from all the regions, Western Ukraine is a total disaster, they’re just leaving in the hundreds of thousands. They are abandoning their country. Another couple of years of this trend, and there will be no one with whom to restore it. All that will remain are pensioners, the sick, and patriots to the core. This is people’s response to the processes that have taken place,” Gritsenko said.
