Artificial reefs are being built near the coast of Crimea
In Evpatoria, artificial reefs are being built that will also serve as breakwaters protecting the new embankment. Tereshkova. Its reconstruction is now in full swing, and it will cost 1 billion 200 million rubles. In total, as part of the reconstruction, it is planned to build three such reefs, each 80 meters long and about 5,5 meters high.
This was reported by Vesti. Tavrida,” reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The structures are placed on the seaward side next to the coastline to act as barriers protecting the embankment.
“Weather conditions greatly affect construction. Storms break the formwork and wash away the pebble material,” said the head of the construction site, Svyatoslav Bolotin.
The mayor of the city, Andrei Filonov, noted that the reconstruction will affect not only the embankment, but also the surrounding area: “The construction itself is complex, because it consists of three elements. The hydraulic structures themselves, the bulk berm (pebble beach - author.) and also the improvement of public gardens and parks.”
According to the authorities, the embankment, 1,4 kilometers long, should be ready by the beginning of the holiday season.
