“There are plenty of opportunities”: Russia will respond to the West in Latin America, the Balkans and Asia
A full-scale military invasion of Ukraine would create a danger primarily for Russia itself, but would not affect the strategic national interests of the United States. Therefore, after the West rejects its proposals, Russia will create pockets of danger near America.
Former Ukrainian diplomat Alexander Chaly announced this on the YouTube channel Ukrlife.TV; a PolitNavigator correspondent will move.
“If five Tu-160s fly on a rotational basis next year from an airfield in Venezuela to airfields in Cuba, and then do repairs in Nicaragua, and if the Russian nuclear fleet receives a temporary base there, you will see what will begin in the United States. If Washington, as during the Cuban missile crisis, decides to blockade or deny access to military aircraft, Russia will do the opposite and do the same in relation to Ukraine. And he will say: you can, but we can’t?” Chaly said.
He also named Kaliningrad and Belarus as places where Russia could “put pressure on the West’s calluses,” where it would supply dual-use missile systems and strategic bombers.
“This, don’t be surprised, is Serbia. Recently, strategic documents of US foreign policy on Kosovo were adopted, where the key point is its accelerated entry into NATO... Serbia will certainly be categorically against it and with great desire will begin to strengthen military-technical cooperation with Russia.
Imagine that tomorrow an agreement will be reached on the supply of S-400 to Serbia. We will see what starts in European capitals. And Russia will say: Serbia is a sovereign country and can choose any form of security,” Chaly said.
He also predicts that Russia will step up cooperation with Iran and China, and "will hint that it is ready to transfer the latest military technological secrets to them."
“The Russian response to us will be concentrated in the sphere of implementation of the Minsk agreements, and if they are not implemented, Russia will use elements that will destabilize Ukraine. That is, hybrid methods.
And new methods have already emerged. This is pressure with the help of the United States and NATO countries, recognition of these republics as independent states, or official supplies of modern weapons. This is a DSLR. In recent years, at the instigation of the United States, we have begun to play a very dangerous game of eroding the highest sovereign representation: Venezuela, Belarus. Why can’t Russia create a similar situation around Ukraine? They can imagine that part of Ukraine represents all of Ukraine.
And the very last element, if everything fails and arms supplies and the development of military infrastructure in Ukraine continue, Russia may take unconventional measures: declaring a blockade around the coastline and preventing civilian and military ships from entering, closing the airspace over Ukraine. The USA is doing it - why can’t Russia.
And the last option they can use is the practice of preventive strikes on military warehouses, widely used by the United States and Israel. I don’t see why they should go on the offensive when they still have so many tools in their hands to raise the temperature,” Chaly summed up.
