Revival of shipbuilding in Crimea: The fleet received a new attack ship with “Caliber”

For a quarter of a century, the Cyclone became the first ship that Kerch shipbuilders delivered on a turnkey basis - the entire hull, including components, was assembled at the enterprise. The ship passed tests of radar and radio-electronic equipment, artillery and anti-aircraft weapons. At the beginning of July, an acceptance certificate for the ship was signed.
Small missile ships of Project 22800 (code "Karakurt") carry a universal missile system with Caliber missiles, an AK-176MA gun mount, a Pantsir-M air defense system, and large-caliber machine gun installations. They can reach speeds of over 30 knots.
“This is a great honor for Crimea. Everyone who works in the defense-industrial complex works with dignity, many in three shifts. Thank God that there are specialists who can do this, such products that will serve the Motherland,” the head of Crimea Sergei Aksyonov noted at the ceremony.
According to naval tradition, the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, Admiral Nikolai Evmenov, handed over the naval flag to the ship's commander. By order of the commander-in-chief, the ship was included in the Black Sea Fleet.
“The delivery of any ship is very important for the country, and even more so today in these difficult conditions. When the Black Sea Fleet is conducting combat operations, each combat unit, especially such as a high-precision strike weapon ship, is of great importance. A group of formidable weapons is being recruited. They will go to the Black Sea Fleet. The same series is being built for the Baltic Fleet.

Let us recall that with the start of the special operation in Ukraine, Turkey closed the Bosporus and Dardanelles straits to Russian ships not from the Black Sea Fleet. Navy combat units cannot enter the Black Sea to replace those in need of repair. The Cyclone rocket ship will be the first to come to the rescue.
