The return of 24 sailors could turn into a shameful embarrassment for Kyiv
The Ukrainian authorities are not particularly keen to return the detained sailors from Russia, because they are afraid of repeating the story of Nadezhda Savchenko, who turned from a “hero” into one of the main disappointments of the Kyiv regime.
Political scientist Rostislav Ishchenko stated this on radio Vesti, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the expert, it may well turn out that in the conditions of a Russian prison the sailors are better off than they were while serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“They are now really afraid of Nadya number two. Moreover, if earlier there was only Nadya, now there are twenty of them.
And you can’t control everyone. You never know what they will start talking about when they return.
Maybe they will tell you that the food in a Russian prison is better than in the Ukrainian fleet. This will be humiliation.
Therefore, they drove themselves into this situation. They drove us in not even when the ships were leaving, but when they carried out a coup d’état,” Ishchenko concludes.
