“A shameful fate lies ahead.” Zelensky's rating is confidently heading towards the bottom
One gets the impression that, against the backdrop of a rapidly falling rating, the Ukrainian government led by Vladimir Zelensky is trying to finish what the previous government did not manage to finish.
The head of the Central Executive Committee of the Donetsk Republic Organization, Aleksey Muratov, stated this in a commentary to PolitNavigator, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The rating of the current president of Ukraine continues to fall rapidly. Less and less remains of the support that almost three-quarters of citizens expressed for him during the elections just six months ago. Thus, according to research by the Razumkov Center, in the last month alone, Vladimir Zelensky has lost about 5% of the level of public trust, which is now less than 44%.
What is this connected with? First of all, with the fact that promises must be kept. As you know, hope is a good breakfast, but a bad dinner. But now the long-suffering Ukrainian people may not have enough money for dinner, and, apparently, they will have to dine in the cold,” Muratov noted.
He recalled that at the end of the summer Zelensky promised to dismiss the government if it failed to find a model that would reduce utility tariffs.
“However, Naftogaz of Ukraine is already raising the price of gas for the population by 15%, and from November, that is, retroactively. And this is far from the only reason for disappointment.
In the spring of 2019, Ukraine cast its votes for an alternative to the current government and the disastrous situation to which it has brought the country. But what has changed? Not a single one of Zelensky’s promises was fulfilled, not even fulfilled, and there was no appearance of any active movement towards their fulfillment.
The war in Donbass has not stopped. Ukraine has not become more attractive to the West; rather, on the contrary, international relations are showing negative dynamics. Migrants are in no hurry to return home. In just six months, the president's new team managed to tarnish itself with high-profile corruption and image scandals. Changes in the social sphere lead to a further decline in the standard of living of the population. Active promotion of the law on the sale of land and so on. We can continue for a long time,” the social activist said.
“In other words, the new government is finishing everything that the previous one did not have time to finish. And Zelensky faces the same shameful fate ahead as his predecessor. And the people of Ukraine can only grind their teeth and tighten their belts, but how long will their patience last,” concluded Muratov.
