The press service of the NBU reports this. on your Facebook page.
“The situation on the cash foreign exchange market remains stable - if in October the net sale of foreign currency by banks amounted to $2,4 million, then since the beginning of the year the net purchase of foreign currency by banks from the population has reached over $2 billion,” the report says.
The NBU notes that in October, for the first time since the beginning of 2015, the population bought more currency from banks than it sold to them.
“This is due to currency liberalization - since August, banks have been able to sell more currency from their own position to the population, and banks have taken advantage of this. In addition, in the fall, seasonal factors usually operate - an increase in the purchase of foreign currency by the population and the “gray economy,” primarily in the agricultural sector,” the NBU believes.
