This was announced by the Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine Andrey Reva, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports with reference to the press service of the department.
“Today in Ukraine there is a shortage of medical personnel - experienced specialists travel abroad en masse to work even as paramedical staff. After all, they do not see any prospects for increasing their social status. Therefore, instead of forcing them into early retirement, we need to increase salaries, and through salaries, the level of pension provision, thus motivating specialists to remain working in Ukraine,” Reva noted.
True, for some reason the Ukrainian official blames the current situation not on the policies of the Independence authorities, but on the Soviet system, which, in his opinion, trained too many “superfluous” doctors and teachers.
“In the past, the Soviet education system produced an excess number of teachers and doctors, which directly influenced the decrease in the level of remuneration for their labor. But, as compensation, they were asked to retire early and look for another job,” Reva assures.
