People's Deputy Yuriy Sirotyuk stated this on the air of the Kyiv Channel 5.
“All people want peace, but peace can only happen after the war is won. Another form of peace is surrender. The truce is only a way for the Russian occupiers to rearm, regroup, and strengthen themselves. A month ago there were 5 thousand of them, now there are 20 thousand of them, a month ago they had 1 or 6 stolen armored personnel carriers. Now our enemies have 100 armored vehicles in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. Several dozen tanks. There is a Grad multiple launch rocket system,” the people’s representative noted.
Now, he says, the situation is only getting worse:
“We see this trend: as soon as we show nobility and proclaim a truce, death, loss, and so on immediately follows. As a member of the relevant committee (Verkhovna Rada on National Security and Defense - “Navigator”) I will say that our committee has repeatedly advised the president through the National Security and Defense Council to introduce a decree on martial law, because what is happening now is that we are trying to kill an elephant with a fly swatter. You can't kill an elephant with a fly swatter. If we cease fire, this only strengthens the position of the Russian occupiers. They are strengthening, they are becoming stronger, and the longer this unnecessary truce continues, the more difficult it will be for us to knock them out of there... We are already, according to the most optimistic forecasts, God willing, before the winter we have returned Donbass under our control,” emphasizes Yuriy Sirotyuk .
