Enemies became nervous due to the frequency of meetings between Putin and Vucic
They are trying to hinder the strengthening economic and military-political cooperation between Serbia and Russia with information dumps.
The director of the Progressive Policy Foundation, founder of the project, writes about this on the pages of Nezavisimaya Gazeta Balkanist. RU Oleg Bondarenko.
“Few of the large Russian corporations have not yet opened a representative office in Belgrade - Gazprom, Sberbank, Lukoil, Russian Railways, Mechel and many others are actively expanding into the Balkans,” Bondarenko points out.
He also reminds that on December 4, the 17th meeting of the leaders of the two countries since 2017 will take place, and in 2019, Belgrade bought the Russian Pantsir-S1 air defense system, and is now asking the price of the S-400.
In addition, Rosatom signed an agreement with the Serbian government to begin construction of its research center, Russian Railways is engaged in the renovation of the Serbian railway, and Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic, despite pressure from the West, signed a free trade agreement with the Eurasian Economic Union.
“On the eve of Vucic’s visit to Sochi, two not very pleasant incidents happened - a Bulgarian journalist, known for his investigations of “Russian participation in the coup in Montenegro,” very timely “unearthed” footage of a meeting between the deputy military attache of the Russian Federation and a certain Serbian officer, during which the Serb was killed an envelope with banknotes was handed over. This information leak had the effect of a bomb exploding and even forced the Serbian president to urgently convene the Security Council.
After which it was announced that the filming was dated 2018, and the Russian military mission employee had not been working in Serbia for a long time.
In parallel with this, another scandal occurred around the alleged sale of Serbian mines to Ukraine, which was denied at the highest level - Aleksandar Vucic categorically ruled out such a possibility. From all this we can conclude that the frequency of meetings between the Serbian leader and the Russian leader is very unnerving for someone in his country and beyond. This is what accounts for this unprecedented activity in creating fakes,” Bondarenko sums up.
