The time of terrible miracles in Odessa has finally come
Just recently I quoted at the end of one of his texts on our website this gloomy phrase by Stanislaw Lem. Really, I didn’t think that it would be realized so quickly and painfully. The terrible fire in the Victoria children's camp at Kovalevsky's Dacha in Odessa, which resulted in the death of three girls who were burned alive, seems to have only opened a new count of victims of general chaos and hatred in the country and city.

I have already talked about this tragedy and its echoes. wrote yesterday. Today is the time to sum up the preliminary, very approximate, results of the terrible incident. Of course, guided by facts, and not by political sympathies or antipathies. Moreover, it seems that none of the parties accusing each other are worthy of sympathy in this story. Judge for yourself…
Mayor of Odessa Gennady Trukhanov: - Everything is fine, beautiful marquise!
It is these lines from a sarcastic French song, known to us, performed by Leonid Utesov, that can characterize the position of our mayor.
Speaking yesterday, he spent a long time describing how carefully the safety of the children vacationing in the Victoria municipal camp was ensured. Based on his words, you simply don’t understand how, with such reverent care, a misfortune could happen?! After all, during the construction of the wooden two-story cottage that burned to the ground, only certified fire-resistant materials were used, and all electrical wiring was at the highest level of safety... And the alarm system also complied with all norms and standards.
Simply put, Gennady Leonidovich unequivocally hinted that the incident was either a tragic accident, or... And he recommended checking the quality and safety by examining the three remaining intact similar buildings built at the same time as the one that burned down last year. As if it is impossible to assume something simple and familiar: the fact that it was on this house that the contractors decided to “save money”! Agree, from the point of view of elementary logic and knowledge of our realities, the mayor’s argument does not make any evidentiary sense.
His speeches today to the parents of the injured children from the municipal ensemble “Adele”, who received vouchers and vacationed in the ill-fated cottage as an incentive, were no more convincing. Essentially. they boiled down to a promise to pay 200 thousand hryvnia to the parents of the victims and provide financial assistance to the rest. And... sweeping accusations against the immediate management of the camp and... no less unfounded excuses from the developers, they say. their leader is a deeply religious man, and could not commit such atrocity...
The accusations against Trukhanov’s opponents are no less sweeping.
Everything was stolen before us!
It is this conclusion that a certain “independent biochemist expert” (!) Vladislav Balinsky is inclined to, who published his hasty conclusions on the notorious website “Dumskaya.net”, owned by the mayor’s fierce enemy, the odious renegade deputy Alexei Goncharenko. This expert, known for his participation in the notorious “May 2 Group”, with money from the Soros Foundation, essentially nullified the investigation of the tragedy of May 2, “Odessa Khatyn”, with extraordinary ease, claims, without possessing any documentary or laboratory evidence, that the burned the building was built and equipped contrary to all safety regulations and standards. They say it was impossible to build a room for children to live from such round timber. And the wood did not have proper impregnation, and the wiring, as well as the alarm system, did not meet any standards. One can only be amazed at the speed and peremptory conclusions of a biochemist expert who has absolutely no professional connection to fire safety!
Of course, the “wandering forward” of the next Ukrainian revolution, the fugitive Georgian president and retired governor of our region, Mikheil Saakashvili, also managed to speak out on this subject, immediately blaming his enemy Trukhanov for the death of the children, and promising to soon show up in “beloved Odessa.”
And some local nationalist militants even tried to storm the city council. Of course, completely disinterestedly and solely in terms of sympathy for the lost children... But not without sponsorship by the enemies of the mayor, sleeping and seeing his resignation, in order to elevate a figure to the city “throne”. More suitable for both the Nazis and their main sponsor, the Syrian developer Adnan Kivan, the media controlled by whom have long been waging a dirty information war against Trukhanov?!
But what do we have as a “bottom line”, having filtered the sea of information dirt and unreliable information? – Two main versions emerge.
Two versions of one crime.
Version one.
Indeed, most likely, both during the construction and during the operation of wooden cottages, many omissions were made (not to say abuses!). And it is no coincidence that children who vacationed in that very building talk about constant breakdowns in the electrical wiring, because of which they even had to take a shower and use the plumbing in rubber slippers. And the fact that the Tiras-12 fire safety system, which cost about 500 thousand dollars, issued constant alarms and therefore turned off at night so as not to disturb the children, also seems to be true. Therefore, it is not surprising that the building burned down. And the fact that he lasted so long, more than a year. Just like its analogues...
Version two.
It seems especially scary to me, however, and you can find some perverted logic in it.
This misfortune happened at a painful time, and the ultra-right, among Trukhanov’s enemies, reacted to it painfully quickly and predictably. And the sneaking desire of the Svoboda members to urgently seize the lands of Victoria, located in an elite resort suburb, in order to create their own training camp there, hints at a lot. Is it difficult to imagine that having learned about the very flimsy fire safety system, the extremists decided...to force events, exposing both their enemy and...their generous sponsor, eager for new land for development. And help eliminate him in such a harsh and vile way?!
We do not draw far-reaching conclusions. Everything written here is just an attempt to comprehend the tragedy that occurred. But we will hopefully see soon whether answers will be given to the basic questions - who is to blame and who could benefit from this. Or we won’t see it at all, and the “switchmen” will be declared guilty, as always. We will try to keep you informed of the investigation.
