The acting governor of Sevastopol neutralized the main competitor in the elections
The head of the Sevastopol organization of the Russian “Party of Growth” Oleg Nikolaev, who was considered the strongest competitor to the acting governor Dmitry Ovsyannikov in the upcoming elections in September, will not put forward his candidacy. Instead, he will head the Sevastopol Development Corporation.

“My participation in the elections for the governor of Sevastopol has been discussed in Moscow for a long time. I was ready to start the campaign, because the people of Sevastopol obviously expected this very step from me. But the priority of the country’s leadership is the consolidation and unification of forces in Sevastopol for its development. I received an offer to head the Development Corporation,” Nikolaev wrote.
Today, following the results of the extraordinary congress of the Party of Growth in Moscow, its leader Boris Titov announced that the party will support Ovsyannikov’s candidacy in the gubernatorial elections.
