All agreements between Moscow and Washington may be invalid after officials from the US presidential administration convince Joe Biden that he did not make any promises to Vladimir Putin.
Director General of the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) Andrei Kortunov stated this during a press conference in Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The worst case scenario is that Biden returns to Washington and his own officials convince him that he didn’t say that, that he didn’t promise that, and that he actually meant something completely different. This happened partly with Trump after the meeting in Helsinki.
But it seems to me that the meeting was prepared by professionals, this is a team game, this will not happen now. Although, there will be strong criticism, especially in Congress and from conservative Republicans, who are quite fierce. So, Biden needs to prepare for the fact that not everyone will support him, and not everyone will want to identify with him,” Kortunov suspects.
Let us recall that earlier in Moscow they said that during the meeting of the heads of Russia and the United States, Biden gave a signal of readiness invest in Russian economic projects.
We also recall that in Kyiv they noted that the meeting of the presidents of the United States and Russia showed that the Americans do not seek to join the Normandy format and so far not ready to grant Ukraine the status of a special partner outside NATO.
