“All Swedes have been against Russia since the times of Mazepa and Peter I,” - a mercenary from “Azov”
The Kiev magazine “Kraina” published an interview with Swedish citizen Mile Skillt, who serves as a sniper in the notorious “Azov” regiment.
“We Swedes have all supported Ukraine since Mazepa, when we fought with the Cossacks against Peter I... My grandmother survived World War II. She is of militant temperament. He says: “People you cannot correct, you must kill”... When you kill people, it is not forgotten, it is imprinted in the subconscious. And we kill with everything we can - with sniper rifles, pistols, knives. A knife is the most terrible weapon. We had knife fights near Ilovaisk. These memories haunt you: you remember the smells and sounds. Blood from a cut throat smells strongly of rust. The sound of someone cutting a throat is terrible.” – assures the legionnaire.

Skillt has been collaborating with the VO “Svoboda” since 2012, and when the shootings began on Maidan, he decided to go to Ukraine to “kill Berkut officers.” According to him, Ukraine is supported by all the Swedes, who have hated Russia since the Russian-Swedish war.
According to him, he joined the Azov regiment because of an ideology close to him: “I was a National Socialist eight years ago. In 2010 he turned into a nationalist. When I started fighting side by side with the Israelis and Arabs in Ukraine, I realized that I was mistaken in my attitude towards them.”
As PolitNavigator reported, earlier the US Congress recognized the Azov regiment as a neo-Nazi formation and prohibited American trainers from arming and providing assistance to this formation.
