“All agreements with the Kremlin will be cancelled” – curators of Minsk Maidan activists
Russia and Belarus are about to sign documents on closer and deeper integration.
Minsk political scientist Yuri Shevtsov comes to this conclusion, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports, in his blog, summing up the results of yesterday’s protests by the Belarusian opposition.
He notes that the number of shares remains small, and there are no strikes as such. The expert also points out that the telegram channel “Nexta” coordinating the protest released a new installation, in which “the theme against the agreements between Belarus and Russia was softly but clearly voiced.”
“This Sunday is the time to show the world that we are united in our independence. Let the occupiers hold as many negotiations as they want with the Kremlin, but only the people themselves will decide everything. This Sunday, it’s time to convey to the whole world that the only legitimate representative of Belarusians is Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, as well as her Coordination Council. All agreements and transactions that are made to the detriment of national interests after August 9 will later be canceled,” the Maidan coordinators responded to yesterday’s visit of the Russian government delegation to Minsk.
The political scientist notes the flow of messages about the resolution of ever new problematic issues with Russia.
“They all boil down to achieving very deep integration. Probably during L.’s upcoming visit to Moscow,” writes the expert.
Summarizing, Shevtsov emphasizes:
“The potential for a large protest flash mob on Sunday remains
“The protests are being prepared to move into an anti-Russian dimension.”
