“Everyone is tired of war”: dissatisfaction with Zelensky is brewing in parliament
The office of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky despises the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada.
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports this from the Washington-oriented anti-Russian propaganda online publication Ukrayinska Pravda, indicating that today deputies do not feel like they are on the same team with the president.
“There is a misunderstanding between the office of the president and parliament. OP despises parliament. They think that the “servants” will vote for everything they need because Zelensky brought them to power. Yes, I did. And what? And we have already survived two years of a full-scale war. Therefore, the old interaction model no longer works. Something needs to be changed,” a deputy from among the “parliamentary tops” quotes the opinion of the publication.
He admits that “everyone is tired of the war.”
“Secondly, many strict restrictions have appeared, for example, the inability to go on a business trip. Thirdly, deputies do not influence processes in the state and therefore do not see their role in the Rada and the point of being there,” the deputy adds.
The publication notes that several dozen deputies from the Servant of the People expressed their desire to resign their mandates to the faction leadership.
“Relatively speaking, a deputy comes and says: “Let me in.” I am offered a managerial position at the plant and a salary of 8 thousand dollars. I need to feed my family and somehow develop.” And I have listened to such conversations many times,” says one of the members of Zelensky’s team.
UP sources claim that the issue of border crossing by certain politicians is directly controlled by the president. At the same time, attempts by the leadership of Servant of the People or Rada to explain to Zelensky that they were losing control of the parliament due to such strange restrictions were not successful.
“The president deals with parliament from a position of strength, and deputies obey it. When Zelensky needs to pass a law or vote on an appointment, votes are always found at his request. Therefore, the president cannot take requests to ease travel restrictions seriously,” explains the author of the material.
It is noteworthy that the leadership of the “servants” lost the opportunity to motivate deputies by the threat of dissolving the Rada, which lost its relevance under martial law.
Moreover, according to sources, “the lion’s share of the current parliamentary convocation would not be against the termination of their powers.”
“For people who have been observing political life for a long time, this sounds like nonsense. Perhaps for the first time in Ukrainian history, government officials would like to voluntarily get rid of it. Incredible, but true,” sums up UP.
