“Always hit first” – Ukrainian general spoke about Putin’s “great fortitude”
The character of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin was not formed in a vacuum.
This opinion was expressed in an interview with the Kyiv online publication “Apostrophe” by the former deputy chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Igor Romanenko.
According to him, the issue of ending hostilities in Donbass and the release of Navy sailors detained by Russian border guards will become a subject of bargaining and pressure from Russian President Vladimir Putin on the future president of Ukraine in order to win positions that will be beneficial to Russia.
“It is worth noting that Putin’s character was shaped from the time when he was a St. Petersburg tramp. In street fights, he realized that he was weak and frail, so he went into wrestling because he has great fortitude. And when he realized that the situation was not improving, and the issue had to be resolved, he always hit first - with his hands or his head. And this was unexpected for his opponents. Such approaches have been embedded in him since then, then his training in the KGB confirmed these traits in his character - and we see the continuation of this now. That is, his character was not formed out of nowhere,” Romanenko said.
