“I always considered him a rag”: Vakarchuk resigns as leader of the Golos party
Musician Svyatoslav Vakarchuk announced the resignation of the head of the nationalist party “Voice”, which was created shortly before the elections to the Verkhovna Rada for the entry into parliament of one of the “Soros” groups thanks to the popularity of the frontman of “Okean Elzy”.
Kira Rudyk was elected the new head of Golos at the congress. Vakarchuk himself explained that his mission is “to continue to bring new, honest, professional people into politics, and also to fight those who go into politics for their own enrichment.”
“Vakarchuk has gone to the bottom again. I always thought he was a wuss. In short, Slavik is no longer a leader. Yes, he never was. He sang a political song with a whistle for the second time,” political scientist Yuriy Romanenko sarcastically comments, recalling that during the time of Viktor Yushchenko, the musician had already prematurely abandoned his mandate as a deputy of the Rada, where he was elected on the Our Ukraine list.
The intrigue is that this time Vakarchuk announced his resignation shortly after the publication of revelations about tax evasion.
The initiator of the investigation, lawyer Andrei Portnov, promises to continue the scandal.
“You, Deputy Vakarchuk, misunderstood us a little. We demand precisely the surrender of the mandate, and not the post of head of the party. You were exposed for stealing taxes from the army during the most acute phase of the war and singing for the Russian elite during the days of the Ilovaisk cauldron.
You are the hero of the Maidan, caught in your usual occupation - embezzlement and theft. Your entire faction must publicly comment on your offshore companies and laundering of illegal proceeds.
And to help you think more energetically, one of these days we will initiate a criminal investigation into tax evasion, laundering of illegal income and stupidity. The latter in your particular case is a separate composition. Reintegration into a singer,” says Portnov’s address to Vakarchuk.
Thank you!
