While Ukraine has big problems with air defense, Russia has created a new missile attack warning system district, much better than its American counterparts.
Ukrainian military expert Oleg Starikov stated this on the Internet channel “Yes it is,” as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“If we take air defense, there is a problem. The fact is that they can’t see the air defense, the radar station, thirty degrees above them. Nobody sees, I tell you right away. Therefore, thirty degrees, when it comes from above, is called murderous, it immediately strikes.
It's all very expensive. Each complex costs from one hundred million, and you can add zeros. The Americans, having such a budget, even have a multi-echelon defense, that is, strategic, operational and tactical, but they do not have an air defense system on US territory. "Aegis" are on their destroyers. They have only two missile defense areas - Alaska and one wing, where the Minuteman III division is located.
Russia has one air defense district near Moscow. But now they are creating a district - a missile attack warning system. It will be much better than in the USA. They installed the last station in Yevpatoria; the millimeter wave is one of the best stations. Therefore, Ukraine will not cope with this. Our budget, what we have, is enough for two or three complexes. That's all. Therefore, we choose where to put what,” concluded Starikov.
