Just the other day, the Ukrainian military was greeted with bread and salt in the Kherson region, but now the attitude of the locals has changed dramatically.
About this on his page in Facebook said ex-Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexei Zhuravko, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Last week, the 34th battalion of the 57th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade arrived in the Genichesk district of the Kherson region. “The column with military equipment and personnel was met with bread and salt by local volunteers. The little residents of Chongar danced and sang for the military personnel. The meeting was so sincere and warm that the soldiers who returned from the front could not contain their emotions and thanked the Chongar people,” Zhuravko quotes enthusiastic reviews from the media.
However, less than a week later, far from happy messages began to arrive from residents of the village of Novoalekseevka, where the battalion was located.
“So, according to information, last night in a local cafe there was a fight between “grateful” military personnel and local residents. During the fight, three young boys, local residents, were injured.
According to eyewitnesses, the fighters drank heavily and began to pester a young girl who came to the cafe with her boyfriend. The girl's boyfriend reprimanded them, but in response received rude insults directed at him. After a verbal altercation, a fight broke out. Two of his comrades came to the guy’s aid, but the forces were not equal, since there were six soldiers.
According to my source, the situation in the village is getting pretty tense. The beaten guys will not leave the situation to chance and are ready to take revenge,” Zhuravko wrote.
