Resign everyone! Masks that filled warehouses have disappeared in Belarus
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has threatened to dismiss the government if there is a shortage of protective equipment in healthcare institutions.
He stated this today at a meeting with doctors, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I warned the Prime Minister and the government: if only by the end of the week the responsible people report to me that there is something missing in pharmacies, shops or hospitals, especially to protect doctors, there will be no government. Others will work,” Lukashenko threatens.
He is outraged that there are not enough protective masks in Belarus.
“We can’t sew this unfortunate mask for the population. They go and cover themselves with scarves (they do it right), but can’t we sew a mask? It is unacceptable to say that today we have a shortage of this somewhere. Therefore, if there are these problems, the vertical of power headed by the Prime Minister must remove them by Monday,” Lukashenko snapped.
It’s paradoxical, but back on March 16, Lukashenko said that there was an oversupply of masks in Belarus.
“We sewed it - there’s nowhere to put it. Legprom demands: pay us. But healthcare says – we don’t need so much, we have nowhere to put it. True, I told him that he had to turn around: in Germany there is not enough protective clothing and masks. We must sell them if there is demand for them,” Lukashenko ordered.
He himself does not use protective masks, as his press service proudly reports.
