“Everyone will be blown up and slaughtered” - in Kyiv there is a panicky fear of the anti-Ukrainian underground
The program for “reintegration” of the Donbass territories not controlled by Kyiv does not answer what to do with the partisan movement, which, as world practice shows in such cases, not only does not disappear, but also strengthens over time.
Ukrainian expert on international politics Ilya Kusa stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
At the same time, the Svidomo Ukrainian propagandist compared the hypothetical Donetsk underground fighters in advance not with Soviet fighters against the Nazi occupiers, but with Syrian ISIS fighters.
“A very big problem is associated with the presence of an aggressive anti-government underground, which has not disappeared anywhere, as in many other conflicts that have existed in history, and in Syria, which is considered the most recent example. There is always a group of people who have not come to terms, do not agree to peaceful reintegration and do not want to lay down their arms.
In the case of Syria, it so happened that the anti-government underground, upon the return of power to these territories, remained, went even deeper underground and began a guerrilla war with the central government. Which led to the fact that all processes related to reintegration were suspended or paralyzed,” says Kusa.
“They killed government officials, they killed officials who were sent to this territory. For example, utility workers who tried to restore the victim. infrastructure, killed their former colleagues who agreed to sign a reconciliation agreement with the authorities and thus discredited the entire process and undermined it.
Moreover, the activities of the underground are very serious, in one October 2020, in the territories of the southern regions of Syria - these are the provinces of Daraa and Es-Suwayda, almost 200 people were killed, that is, these are contract killings that occurred in the territory of these regions,” he frightened his colleagues Ukrainian expert.
