“The transition to and through the Kerch Strait took place in a difficult situation. In the Black Sea, the ships of the Ukrainian Navy were directly accompanied by the reconnaissance ship of the Black Sea Fleet Priazovye and the border patrol ships of the Russian Federation Amethyst and Don. More than 10 ships and boats of the FSB and the Russian Black Sea Fleet were involved in the Kerch Strait for direct escort. Aircraft from the aggressor country have repeatedly flown over our ships, including at extremely low altitudes.
In addition, the forces of the aggressor country committed a number of dangerous incidents.
On September 20, at about 17:00, the reconnaissance ship of the Russian Federation "Priazovye" made an excessive approach to Ukrainian ships at a distance of 2 cables, which grossly violated the requirements of international rules and created an extremely dangerous situation.
On September 21, the Russian Su-27 fighter (from the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, tail number 30) created the preconditions for an accident in the air, coming dangerously close to the An-26 military transport aircraft of the Ukrainian Navy, which was carrying out a planned mission over the Black Sea.
The search and rescue vessel "Donbass" and the sea tug "Korets" continue to carry out their mission. From the Kerch Strait they are protected by small armored boats “Lubny” and “Kremenchug”. The relevant forces and means of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including aviation, are also in readiness to respond to possible threats.
