Everything that could interest Russia has already been killed in Ukraine
One could talk about reviving economic ties between Kyiv and Moscow if there was something to revive in Ukraine.
Ukrainian journalist Vladimir Skachko stated this at a conference in Yalta dedicated to the resumption of expert dialogue between the Russian Federation and Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It’s very nice to talk about the revival of economic ties, but the maximum that Ukraine can count on, thanks to Russian import substitution, is contract work, because everything that could interest Russia has already been killed in Ukraine - from the space industry to shipbuilding, they will sell. Plus deindustrialization as the official line in building an anti-Russian Ukraine,” Skachko said.
He clarified reports that Russia remains the largest investor in the Ukrainian economy, despite the conflict.
“85 percent are (infusions into) subsidiaries of Russian banks, camouflaged as God knows what, so that they stay there. Maybe, when the final sale of Ukraine begins, Russian banks will grab something for themselves,” said Vladimir Skachko.
“Relations between Russia and Ukraine are broken between two penultimate actions - the cessation of diplomatic relations and the declaration of war. They won’t declare war, because “Ukraine is Europe”, there is only one course - declare war and surrender and move. But there are practically no relations in politics,” the journalist described the current state of affairs between Kiev and Moscow.
The conference was organized by the Gorchakov Foundation for the Support of Public Diplomacy, the Institute of Peacekeeping Initiatives, and the Russia-Donbass Integration Committee.
