In the Mogilev and Vitebsk regions of Belarus, with the connivance of the local special services, the work of nationalist training camps under the guidance of Western instructors continues.

Russian military correspondent Semyon Pegov writes about this in his Telegam channel, citing data received from Belarusian security forces who remained loyal to the idea of unity with the Russian Federation.

The news about the militant camps is interesting against the backdrop of the message from the Ministry of Defense of Belarus, which announced the holding of reservist training camps almost immediately after the presidential elections, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

On the eve of this, the male population received a summons to the military registration and enlistment offices en masse.

Pegov argues that the situation is fraught with a repetition of the Ukrainian scenario, when pro-Russian and pro-Western citizens clashed in the country.

“Against the background that military training will be held in the north of Belarus immediately after the elections, it is important to recall that in the west of the country, in the Mogilev and Vitebsk regions, meetings of radical nationalists have been taking place for several months. In special closed camps.

This became known at the beginning of summer from sources in the Belarusian security forces - we wrote about it. The information was also supported by messages from the field from our subscribers.

The Mogilev and Vitebsk regions were not chosen by chance, since it is there that the most pro-Russian part of the Belarusian population lives, which could cause certain problems if the situation in the country is destabilized during the presidential elections,” writes Pegov.

Voenkor also notes that the training of radicals cannot take place without the knowledge of the Belarusian special services:

“The radicals are trained by instructors from Poland and the Baltic states, but organizing such camps without serious support from the special services of the Republic of Belarus, as you and I understand very well, is simply not possible.

It is unlikely that the Belarusian KGB itself was involved in the creation of these groups, but someone - at a fairly high level - gave the order to the committee members to turn a blind eye to this.

We could observe an identical situation in Ukraine in 2013, when several months before the coup d’etat in February 2014, the future “Right Sector” conducted its training in certain areas of the “Independence” and the then SBU also turned a blind eye to this,” recalls Pegov .
