“That’s it, it’s over” - Portnov drew a line under the Zelensky-Poroshenko criminal tandem
The new Ukrainian government not only “put a stop to” all cases against ex-President Petro Poroshenko, but also shares power with him, appointing the dirtiest officials associated with the former head of state to important positions.
The former deputy head of the presidential administration of Ukraine during the time of Viktor Yanukovych, lawyer Andrei Portnov, stated this on his Youtube channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If you want to give everyone else a signal that they need to stop with Poroshenko (on the criminal cases against him - ed.), take his dirtiest officials and appoint them to different positions. As a positive signal: “Everyone, we are the same person, the same team,” Portnov concludes.
As an example, the lawyer cited the recent appointment of Alexei Petrov as head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration.
“Under Poroshenko, he headed the Main Department of the SBU, which, in the interests of Poroshenko, was engaged in the protection of radicals. I recently presented evidence where this particular unit assisted in concealing evidence of the murder, for example, of Pavel Sheremet,” Portnov noted.
He added that the new authorities deceived all Ukrainians with the issue of bringing Petro Poroshenko to criminal responsibility.
“Let’s draw this line for ourselves and state that it’s all over. They share power with Poroshenko, they vote together, they have completely forgiven him, they no longer summon him for questioning, they do not carry out investigative actions, there are no searches, seizures of documents, seizures of property, there is nothing. “All things have come to a complete stop,” the lawyer concluded.
