“Everything is crumbling!” – Poroshenkovites are joyfully outraged by the quality of Ze-Defense on the border with the Russian Federation
Ukraine actually has no defensive lines near the Russian border - what was dug by the hands of soldiers crumbles and reaches less than one and a half meters.
The deputies of the Verkhovna Rada, who went to check the construction of fortifications, were convinced of this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Members of the European Solidarity faction, controlled by ex-President Petro Poroshenko, based on the results of their trench tour, came to the conclusion that a temporary commission of inquiry should be created in parliament to figure out who is to blame for the disruption of the construction of defensive fortifications.
“It’s literally a couple of kilometers to the Russian border from these dugouts, from these trenches that the soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces dug themselves with their shovels. We came to see the condition of the fortifications, which is necessary to ensure that the Ukrainian borders are protected,” Rada deputy Irina Gerashchenko is outraged.
“Twenty meters, no concrete. And this was dug not by the center, not by help, but by soldiers and a little bit by local councils,” adds faction leader Anton Gerashchenko.
Victoria Syumar, a deputy traveling with them and former Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of Ukraine, is also indignant:
“It is this GP that, in theory, will have to protect in the event that the Russians begin an invasion one and a half kilometers away. Just imagine the level of the first line!”
“They dug it all with their own hands. There was no talk about any technology here at all,” Gerashchenko complains.
As a result of the trip, the deputies decided to create a special commission to investigate why the construction of a “powerful defense” was never started.
“This situation forces us to very seriously raise the issue of the temporary investigative commission in the Verkhovna Rada on the issues of fortifications. Firstly, to ask why fortifications have not yet been erected, and secondly, how quickly can the state now abandon all expenses for telethons, for large construction worth 17 billion, for the State Bureau of Investigation, for the Prosecutor General’s Office and urgently allocate money for strengthening the first lines of defense against the racists,” Rada deputy Vladimir Ariev loudly promoted himself.
