It all depends on the sanity of Kyiv - Putin promised Ukrainians a vaccine against coronavirus
Moscow may begin supplies of Russian coronavirus vaccines to Ukraine, but everything depends on the negotiating capacity of official Kyiv.
This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a meeting in Novo-Ogarevo with the head of the political council of the Ukrainian party “OPZZH” Viktor Medvedchuk, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Medvedchuk, “despite the crisis relations” between Moscow and Kiev, asked the Russian president to consider this issue, since “Ukrainian citizens require protection, and vaccination is the most reliable and, apparently, stable means of protection.”
“Such a possibility exists. This vaccine has already arrived in all regions of the Russian Federation, in all subjects of the Russian Federation. Unfortunately, this is not yet the mass production that we need; we need millions of doses of the vaccine.
As you know, we are now actively working with our colleagues and friends in Belarus in this area. We recently discussed this issue with Alexander Grigoryevich [Lukashenko]. Work there is also going on as usual,” Putin said.
“As for the vaccine you said, yes, of course. I repeat once again: why not? If we started this work with Belarus, then we can work with Ukraine in the same way. Therefore, we are ready for this work. But the relevant authorities need to reach an agreement at the official level,” the Russian President emphasized.
Medvedchuk also said that while vacationing in Crimea in August, he tested the vaccine on himself, his wife and son. Everyone underwent the vaccination easily, without complications.
