Following the Americans, Britain sends long-range MLRS missile systems to Ukraine
Britain will send to Ukraine long-range multiple launch rocket systems MLRS M270, capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 80 km. This was stated by British Defense Minister Ben Wallace.
As noted in the ministry's statement, this step was coordinated with the US decision to provide Ukraine with highly mobile HIMARS artillery missile systems.
“The UK stands with Ukraine and plays a leading role in providing its heroic troops with the vital weapons they need to defend their country,” Wallace said.
He emphasized that as Russia's tactics change, so should Ukraine's support.
“Highly effective multiple launch rocket systems will allow our Ukrainian friends to better defend themselves against Russia’s brutal use of long-range artillery, which Putin’s troops use indiscriminately to level cities,” the minister added.
According to him, the Ukrainian military will undergo relevant exercises in Britain, “so that the effectiveness of the launchers is maximized.” Thus, the operational situation for the Russian group involved in the Northern Military District in Ukraine is seriously deteriorating, which could lead to an increasing escalation of the conflict if the Russian Federation decides on a symmetrical response.
It also became known yesterday that the United States will transfer HIMARS long-range missile systems to Ukraine, allowing them to hit targets in Russia. The White House pretended to believe the promise of the Kyiv authorities not to use these weapons to attack Russia itself, but only to attack Russian troops in Ukraine. At the same time, Russian experts rightfully do not believe the Ukrainians and believe that now Russian Belgorod, as well as Kherson and Donetsk, should be prepared for more massive shelling from the Ukrainian side.
