The biggest fear of the current Kyiv leadership is that as a result of the elections, representatives of Donbass will appear in the new State Duma of the Russian Federation.
Russian publicist Nikolai Starikov stated this on the Rossiya1 TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Expect recognition of the elections (in the State Duma - ed.) from the Ukrainian junta is a completely meaningless and unnecessary activity. But the main reason why they are going to take such a position is not their claims to Crimea at all, they simply cannot allow a representative of Donbass to appear in the new State Duma of the Russian Federation, because then the Kharkov region will want to get a representative in the State Duma, Dnepropetrovsk wants, and so on and so forth.
Therefore, without talking about it, they immediately draw a red line, which they categorically do not want to cross, but at the same time, this is, of course, another defeat for the current Ukrainian government, and these defeats happen over and over again - has Nord Stream been built? Built. More than one Ukrainian president fought against Nord Stream - one lost, the other lost, that’s it. And now the elections will take place and Donbass will definitely receive its representative in the State Duma,” said Starikov.
