The British publishing house Oxford University Press released a socio-economic atlas of the world for 2016, in which Crimea was identified as part of Russia. “The Oxford Atlas is misleading to students. We call on OUPAcademic to correct the mistake,” the embassy notes.
Let us recall that the French publishing house Larousse previously published a socio-economic atlas of the world for 2016, in which Crimea is designated as part of the Russian Federation.
Photos of the printed version of the atlas caused a lively discussion among Internet users.
The Ukrainian Embassy in France also responded, by contacting the publisher on Twitter with a request to make changes. The diplomatic mission called the changes in the map “a very unpleasant surprise.”
