Following the industrial potential, Ukraine is successfully wasting its agricultural potential
Energy tariffs are one of the main sources of money for the Ukrainian budget, so they have to squeeze money out of people.
The head of the Third Sector analytical center, Andrei Zolotarev, stated this on air on the KRT television channel.
“Now, in fact, energy tariffs are one of the few sources of replenishment of the treasury. We have 50% of the economy in the shadow, Ukraine has turned into a country of mass evacuation of the population. Where can I get money? All that remains is to rummage in your pockets. Everything is included in the tariff policy. Through tariffs they squeeze money out of people, simply fill the budget, and find funds. They then go to pay off debts, all kinds of projects,” Zolotarev said.
He negatively assessed the prospects of Ukraine as a state.
“Just as we successfully squandered our industrial potential, we will squander our agricultural potential. 75% of Ukrainians believe that the country is going in the wrong direction and is pursuing the wrong policy. 33% of Ukrainians want Ukraine not to join the EU or CU, but [should] follow its own national and economic interests. Perspective is a country of peripheral capitalism. It is not a fact that its integrity will be ensured. The country is connected by economic relations, but they are being lost,” the expert noted.
