“I think that in the near future this will be a characteristic trend for all regions of Ukraine. Based on those sociological surveys that are publicly available, we know that the overwhelming majority of the Ukrainian population believes that the country is moving in the wrong direction, and the current president is precisely the main one responsible for the dire economic consequences of the situation that has developed in the country.
We see just a rare manifestation of democratic principles in Ukraine, when the aspirations of the country’s population that exist are converted into appeals from their own people’s elected representatives, regional elected representatives of regional councils.
It is quite possible that in the future there will be other regional councils that will support the people’s opinion that the president should leave his post and early elections should be held.
This is the key motive for this appeal,” Denisov said.
As PolitNavigator reported, deputies of the Kyiv Regional Council addressed the Verkhovna Rada with an appeal to regulate the procedure for removing the President of Ukraine through impeachment.
In addition, previously the Kiev Regional Council and a number of other regional councils voted for the appeal to the Cabinet of Ministers with a demand to conclude an agreement on the division of powers with the central authorities.
